Macarons are very special to the French, and if you are ever in Paris, do not fail to go visit the shop La Duree to experience not just the beautiful shop, but also what is said to be the very best macarons in France.
Recently a branch of Laduree Shop has turned up in Gordes, close to the Hotel La Bastide du Marie. You can just shop or there is a beautiful cafe opened from 9:00am to 7:00pm.
I am not a fan as I do not have a massive sweet tooth, favouring things much less sweet, however I adore every photograph of macarons that I come across . . . if any food has sex appeal well to me this has it in spades.
That and oysters of course . . .
